I am Guusje a 19-year-old second-year Biology student at Radboud University Nijmegen, participating in the Faculty of Science's Honors Program. My fascination with life's origins and the universe's mysteries sparked my interest in Astrobiology: Where does life come from and is there anything else out there? Learning about the ever-expanding universe and the possibility of multiverses made me believe that extraterrestrial life must be out there… On a different note, I also have a passion for understanding the gut microbiome and its complex interactions with the brain. In my free time, I enjoy singing, playing the piano, and snacking on chocolate pepernoten, which I simply can’t live without!
I am Milind, a 34-year-old second-year Computing Science student at Radboud University Nijmegen, participating in the Faculty of Science's Honors Program. I have a diverse background from Medicine as well as Business administration before starting the current study. I have also worked with some very early-stage startups in the operational and business area. I have always been interested in questions about the origin of the universe, its evolution and how life (humans, animals, plants and aliens if they are out there) fit into the grand scheme. My hobbies include playing guitar, learning about Astronomy and Astrophysics and traveling.
Hi, I am Amber! I am a 20-year-old second-year biologist with a passion for microbiology! Those little microbes are so incredible; they inhabit almost every nook and cranny of the earth, which is not weird since they were the first inhabitants of the earth, and I think that these little microbes can help us design efficient extraterrestrial food systems. In my free-time I do enjoy reading a good book, walking my sweet dog and playing games with friends and family!
I hope you enjoy reading our posts as much as we enjoy making them :)
I’m Jelle, I’m 18 years old and I study and live in Nijmegen. Currently I’m doing two bachelors: Physics & astronomy and mathematics. In my free time I like playing guitar and helping organise fun activities in the study associations that I’m part of. I’m also interested in education. For instance, I give planetary lessons in primary and secondary schools, and as a teacher's assistant I teach first year students. As for my studies, I mostly like theoretical physics, abstract mathematics and astrophysics, and as I’m interested in many exact sciences. I am very glad to participate in our astrobiology project.
Hello there, I’m Charles, a 20-year-old Computing Science and Artificial Intelligence student at Radboud University, Nijmegen and a member of the Faculty of Science’s Honors program. Having grown-up overseas most of my life, I have a mix of passions and interests across culture and academia. Particularly in Muay Thai, MMA and Rugby as sports. Academically, I have long been fascinated with LLMs, IoT and avionics. The latter inspired me to discover more about Astrobiology and how machines are needed to interact with life. There are many complicated computer systems available on the ISS and within robots such as the Mars ROVER; systems I would very much be interested in learning to replicate or plan for. Outside, I do enjoy going on walks, playing board games and D&D with friends or playing Airsoft in my free time.
